God of War

God of War is a great port of one of the PlayStation 4's biggest games. PC gamers have all of the graphics options they could really want, and the game's origins mean that even fairly modest gaming PCs can push for high frame rates and resolutions. If you've not already played the game on PlayStation, this is a great chance to catch up ahead of Ragnarok's highly anticipated release.

God of War PC is, simply put, a brilliant port of one of the best games ever to grace PlayStation consoles.

God of War on PC is the definitive way to play an absolutely essential game. It’s never looked better, bringing into sharp relief an art style that’s colourful, brutal and incredibly inventive with practically faultless performance, even on a machine that isn’t at the absolute bleeding edge of PC technology. Even if you’ve played God Of War on the PS4, it’s more than worth going back for another trip up the mountain.

Do I recommend God of War? Absolutely. Do I recommend the PC Port? Yes. God of War was already so polished and the PC Port does a good job of holding up to that standard. While there are a few caveats that I've mentioned, these are all easily fixable with a patch.

In the end though, God of War remains an utterly brilliant action-adventure, where the former is as good as the latter. The bond between Kratos and Atreus is wonderfully handled, nuanced, funny, and heartfelt. A sentiment that speaks to the overall narrative, an engaging slice of Nordic mythology that also paves the way for the sequel - God of War: Ragnarok - due later this year on PS5. Really though, all you need to know is that one of the best games of the last decade is now available on PC.
