What just happened? Epic launched a promotion with deep discounts on some of the biggest recent releases. It is one of the most valuable giveaways in Epic Games Store history. Customers can pick up BioWare's award-winning Dragon Age Inquisition gratis for the next seven days.

Dragon Age Inquisition: Game of the Year Edition is free on the Epic Games Store until March 23. The critically acclaimed RPG is the first among several mystery freebies the company will reveal between now and the end of its "Mega Sale" on June 13. The hit title includes all expansion packs and downloadable content. However, it still requires EA's game launcher.

Following its initial 2014 launch, the game won numerous accolades, including Game of the Year from The Game Awards and DICE. Sources speaking with Eurogamer said one of the unnamed upcoming releases for this fiscal year mentioned in a recent EA financial report is the sequel, Dragon Age Dreadwolf.

If true, BioWare's next major RPG will launch before April 1, 2025. The studio has revealed almost nothing about the game. However, EA is hosting a showcase this summer (likely next month), which would be an ideal time for an official announcement. Claiming the free offer for Inquisition this week might be a good way for fans to prepare for a sequel.

Epic will reveal the next free mystery game when the Inquisition giveaway ends on May 23 at 11 am ET. The sale will include at least three more mystery titles.

The promotion also includes discounts on various popular titles. The heftiest price cuts are for EA Sports FC 24 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which are 80 percent off at $13.99 and $11.99, respectively. Horizon Zero Dawn and Far Cry 6 are 75 percent off at $12.49 and $14.99.

Deals on games from this year include Prince of Persia The Lost Crown for $29.99 at a 40 percent discount, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for $27.99 after a 60 percent price cut, and a half-off sale on Skull and Bones for $29.99. Alan Wake II is on sale for $39.99 after a 20 percent markdown, and Rockstar is again listing steep discounts for Red Dead Redemption 2 ($23.99) and Grand Theft Auto V ($14.99).

These sales last until March 23, when Epic will likely rotate in a new selection of deals.

It's weird I put +80hrs in to beat game but I never felt I actually liked it. didn't connect with the characters or plot. I wasn't a fan of the combat either.

I really enjoyed DA:O and thought the plot and characters were better developed.

Ugh, I'd rather pay than use EGS.

Anyhow, DA:I feels like the MMORPG that wasn't. When it's good (core story missions, Trespasser expansion) it's really good.

When it isn't (gating progression behind power, main character having everything handed to them on a platter, weird lag/delay in hit registers in combat) it really isn't.

Beautiful game though, worth it just for the lore if you liked Origins and 2. Beware of the woke tho, I know it scares many in these parts...

After Origins, Dragon Age entries were trash....yet somehow Inquisition was made worse than DA2. I'm honestly surprised they feel like the series did well enough to bring in yet a 4th game.

Look at what happened with the Gothic games. The original was solid, the second one was great, the third one was meh (even after all the official patches it still required fan patches to fix the remainder of bugs) and the fourth one was so bad that the naming for it was pulled when the IP rights went back to Piranha Bytes. It's not even considered a Gothic game anymore by description.....it's just a game that exists in the Gothic world.

Bioware went downhill shortly after DA:O, SWTOR was great from story side but also a let down.

This is amazing! Especially the GOTY edition with all the DLC. Perfect time to jump in (or revisit) this awesome RPG while we wait for Dragon Age Dreadwolf, which sounds like it's coming soon based on that EA report. Epic's Mega Sale has some crazy discounts too, like Assassin's Creed Valhalla for under $12! This is a great week to be a PC gamer.

All I think of every time I hear this game

DAI is a good game. Had it for years and finally only beat it recently. I highly recommend you mod this title. There are lots of really good QoL stuff on Nexus. One of the best is instant war table completion. Be warned tho, if your a completionist it’s well north of 100 hours.

I bought a game on Epic and the offline mode doesnt work . I reached out to them for assistance . Zero effect . Offline is important for me to not let Windows do things in background . I m very disappointed and I m reconsidering my future purchases from the platform .
